Unsurprisingly, this is a question I get asked a lot. The short answer is that alcohol will not positively contribute to your progress (sorry!)
Ultimately, drinking alcohol is a personal choice. My goal in coaching is to help you to build sustainable habits that you will be able to maintain and, if the occasional drink helps to keep you motivated and stick to the program, then that may be worth it for your own circumstances. If you do choose to have a drink, going for drinks with lower sugar or yeast can minimise the impact.
90-10 Rule
One thing to consider if you do choose to have a few drinks is the 90-10 rule. 90% of the time, you should be able to control the necessary variables to allow you to eat perfectly following your meal plan or macronutrient guidelines.
If you do have a few glasses of wine, try not to let this impact your training and meal plan for the subsequent day.
